Don’t leave me yet, the night’s still young,
and the world is here even now,
greeting our every step and every sigh.
Shine your light, my heart,
drop your fears,
done your honour and your pride,
armour your eyes,
cast down the dreary pains,
and step out to shine your divine glow.
Don’t leave me yet, the day is not along,
our path here is not yet done,
your heart is not yet gone.

Betti…oh how your words move me. You write magnificently, and like I once said, I compare every piece of literary art to Dante Alighieri, the inspiration behind everything I write. I am in awe, as always. You have proven very well that the size of a poem, does not in any way affect how much it can move someone.
Thank you once more for writing such beautiful poetry, I am truly honored to even be able to read it.
Bee…had to come back and comment again. Cos when you told me about this..it meant the world to me.
I was so depressed last night…more than I have been in so long, and the world felt like it was crushing me, and the memory of what could wrong with me at any time came creeping in, and this is what got me to sleep. This poem. I was a wreck until the 15th or 16th time I read it.
So thank you my dear…no words will ever be more treasured by me than these.
Wayne, thank you so much … I am glad that with my writing I can at least offer you some kind of escape. Hugs to you my dear.
